More Problems For Haiti

As if the devastating  January 12th earthquake that claimed the lives of approximately 230,000 people wasn't enough, the people of Haiti are now facing a cholera outbreak. Haiti's president Rene Preval has confirmed that 138 people have died from the disease and that over 1,500 people are reportedly suffering from severe diarrhea and vomiting in rural areas north of Port-au- Prince.
Cholera is an acute intestinal infection caused by eating contaminated food and drinking contaminated water. If these symptoms go untreated people who have contracted cholera are at risk of dying of dehydration.
Sadly ,over one million people have been left homeless since the quake and the majority of them live in unsanitary tent cities with no place to properly dispose of human waste.
As I shared with you all in earlier posts, I am Haitian. Both of my parents were born in Haiti and I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful country with my brother and cousin and aunt when I was 6 years old. My heart grieves for my people in Haiti because of all that they have endured throughout our rich history.

I am in awe of the strength and resilience of the people of Haiti.  My prayer is that the Lord will swiftly deliver His people from all of this devastation and allow them to fully recover and live up to their potential.

Watch the video below to see an uplifting example of the resilience of the Haitian People.

Diesel Black Gold fall/winter collection is so exciting and unique that it softens the blow of the cold weather to come. The collection is marriage of  leather and denim and the relationship works.

The Black Gold is Diesel's high end contemporary line and the lead designer is Sophia Kokosalaki.  Renzo Rosso, Diesel's president and founder describes Diesel Black Gold as "an exclusive collection dedicated to those looking for the unpredictable Diesel spirit blended with a sophisticated individual style."

Here are a few of my favorite pieces:
